4/4/2024 0 Comments Bandwidth speed test mb vs kbsMax active 18 and don't count slow torrents.DHT, PeX enabled, LSD disabled (Only affects your local network traffic, not the internet).Using whilst seeding and downloading I got 2.8 Mbps and I do use a VPN, usually on the other side of the world. Here are some figures from a laptop I bum around with, WiFi to a Netgear modem. Anyway, thank you again for your help, sorry your thinking qBt is complicated. I definitely prefer qBittorrent to Deluge but I will keep on using the latter one until I have a faster connection because I have the feeling that to make qBittorrent work properly you need either to be an expert user or to have a fast connection. I will use your tip importing them in Deluge now. Indeed I had almost twenty torrents in qBittorrent and most of them were always attempting to connect because they had few trackers and low counts and they most likely worsened the situation as you said. I don’t remember if I had tried that with qBittorrent. Moreover I now allow only three torrents in download and one in upload in Deluge and it’s doing fine eventhough it goes not that fast. With Deluge working with these restrictions the browsing speed now varies between 3 and 7 Mbps and that’s ok. Therefore it's clear that the big issue is in my connection system which is definitely weak (although shouldn't 14Mbps be enough for browsing and torrenting at the same time?) But then I set Deluge’s values to - 750kbps down speed max, 50 kbps up speed max, 200 connections, 8 half open connections and 10 connection attempts per second - and that actually improved the browsing speed. While it was torrenting with its default options I was receiving Kbps in browsing speed as well. Yesterday in the end, before I could see your answer I tried Deluge. Then I secondly changed all of the band values following this guide that should make qbittorrent and your connection fit together: Īnd so I opened a specified port on the router, I put the static IP, firewall permissions and the final values given by the calculator but the situation was still the same -> browsing speed in Kbps. Those second options helped a bit and later the speed test was giving results over 1Mbps indeed. Then, on top, I added the reduction of the global number of connections - 100 - and I removed the ticks from DHT, Peer exchange (Pex) and Local peer discovery. Anyway when qBittorent is not working I get 14Mbps on but as soon as qbittorrent starts and I repeat the speed test, the browsing speed goes down to kbps.įirstly I tried to set the global speeds limits at a low level - 750Kbps in download and 50Kbps in upload - and I was still getting kbps in browsing speed. I am not sure if it's an ADSL but I know for sure it's not fiber. Thank you very much for the info and for your replies.Īs said my modem in upstream does 1029Kbps and 17089 in downstream.
